2022 Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) Released Items Performance Data
As required by KRS 158.6453, assessment reports provided to the school districts and schools shall include an electronic copy of an operational subset of test items from each assessment administered to their students and the results for each of those test items by student and by school.
In compliance with statute, statistical information by student and by school is being provided directly to District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) through a secure file transfer. DACs should communicate with their superintendents and school principals that this information is available. Although not statutorily required, district level data are also included.
These KSA data provide evidence of student learning that helps to inform decision-making related to teaching and learning. Along with other data at the school level, these data can provide insight into student outcomes and provide a clearer picture of school performance.
The 2022 KSA Released Items Data Files document explains the structure and contents of the files and how to access released test items that are connected to the data. Pearson, KSA test vendor, will be providing more detailed training later this month with an opportunity to ask questions in a follow-up Office Hour session. Details will be shared in an upcoming Monday DAC Email.
District, School and Student Released Items Performance Data are located in the KDE Secure Web Application. The zipped files for each district can be found under the Student Data Detail with the naming convention “SD22_XXX_Released_Items_DistrictName_.ZIP.”
The zipped files contain two folders. The Analysis folder contains district and school level files that can be shared with school and district staff. These data are appropriate for sharing with school/district leaders and teachers who could use it to make instructional decisions. Individual student level data are located in the Student Listing folder. As with all student data containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII), confidentiality rules should be implemented.
Contact your district WAAPOC if you are unable to access the secure web application.
2022-2023 K Screen District Data Available
The K Screen results for the 2022-2023 administration are now available. Districts will be able to access their 2022-2023 K Screen data through the KDE secure web apps. The ZIP files will be formatted with the following protocol: SD23_###_K Screen_District Name_ 2021112. The spreadsheets are formatted in district and school breakdowns. The 2022-2023 K Screen results will be reported in the fall School Report Card of the 2023-2024 school year.
The Kindergarten Screener was administered to incoming kindergarten students and repeating kindergarten students by Oct. 17.
The information from the results of the Kindergarten Screener process provides valuable insight to stakeholders to ensure growth for all students. The data contains the composite score of the Core Assessment, the Self Help and Social Emotional Skills Survey, and Prior Settings data reported in Infinite Campus (IC). Contact Lisa Jett with any questions you may have.

ACT Spring 2023 Junior Administration - Test Accessibility and Accommodations (TAA) Deadline Approaching
As a result of the recent technical issues, ACT, Inc. is extended the deadline to submit requests for Spring 2023 State testing. The new deadline to submit requests is Friday, January 20, 2023.
If the testing staff has any questions or technical issues, OAA recommends that the school immediately contact ACT Accommodations by phone at 800-553-6244, ext. 1788, or by email at ACTStateAccoms@act.org. School staff should document the time and date of the contact with ACT Accommodations, along with the student’s SSID.
If a school or district still needs to begin the work to submit accommodation requests, please start as soon as possible to allow ample time to complete this task in TAA. Please Note: ACT will not authorize accommodations, or EL supports for the State administration if the request is submitted after the new deadline unless the request meets the requirements for Qualified Exceptions to the Deadline.
ACT Spring 2023 Junior Administration – Verifying Enrollment Deadline Approaching
The window opening to verify that the list of students enrolled is complete and accurate is open. Testing staff can find supporting resources and documentation on this task within step 2 of the ACT-hosted website. Within this step are a number of supporting resources and a training tutorial designed to ensure testing staff understands what needs to be done if the list of students needs to be completed and accurate. The deadline to complete this work is Friday, January 20. For questions or additional information, please contact Shara Savage.
