Alternate Kentucky Summative Assessment (AKSA) Testing Window 1 Opens Nov. 14
The AKSA testing window to administer Attainment Tasks (AT) will begin on Monday, Nov. 14. Content standards for reading, mathematics, science, social studies and writing will be assessed. No tasks may be administered before Monday, November 14.
Instruction may continue into the testing window if the content provided is not derived from the actual Attainment Tasks being administered. Once the task administration begins, all instruction for that standard should cease until after the task administration has been completed. The testing window will end Dec. 16. DACS may collect school level materials and destroy; however, original DAC binders, score sheets, etc. must be retained through the end of the school year. For questions about the testing window please contact Devon Avery.
Student Registration Database (SRD) Opens Nov. 14
District Assessment Coordinators (DAC), DAC appointees, and teachers who have been activated by their DAC representative will have access to the SRD for score entry beginning Nov. 14. Anyone denied access to the SRD on or after Nov. 14 should contact their DAC or DAC appointee to request activation into the system. Please present proof of certification quizzes before being activated into the system. Activation to enter scores must be completed at the district level. For specific questions about the SRD, please contact Darrell Mattingly.
Career Ready Database (CRD) Opens Nov. 14
The Career Readiness Database (CRD) opens Nov. 14. The CRD is used for score entry for the Employability Skills Attainment Record (ESAR) and status of completion or attainment entry for the Career Work Experience Certification (CWEC). The CRD will close for data entry on June 2, 2023.
Districts and schools should continue to maintain supporting evidence for ESAR and CWEC in the Career Ready Alternate Assessment Folder (CRAAF). Refer to the Working with Exceptional Children in CTE web page on the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) website for additional resources, including ESAR and CWEC Administration Guides and District CWEC Checklist.
The ESAR and CWEC trainings and quizzes are now open. The CWEC opened Sept. 9 and ESAR quiz opened Oct. 14 in the Online Training System (OTS). Please visit the Kentucky Alternate Assessment Program (KAAP) website for access to trainings and quizzes. The ESAR and CWEC quizzes will close Dec. 23. The last day to administer the ESAR is May 30, 2023.
For any questions regarding the career readiness opportunities for alternate assessment students, please contact Sherri Craig in the Office of Career and Technical Education. For assistance with the Career Ready Database (CRD), contact Darrell Mattingly with the University of Kentucky.
