Q: When is the November DAC Webcast?
A: The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA), Division of Assessment and Accountability Support (DAAS) will host its live monthly DAC Webcast virtually Thursday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. – 12 noon ET. A reminder email with the broadcast link and resources will be shared in a special DAC email prior to the meeting.

Alternate ACCESS Field Test – TAM Updates
During the process of finalizing the test forms for the Alternate ACCESS Field Test, WIDA felt it was necessary to add more guidance to the Alternate ACCESS Field Test - Test Administrator Manual (TAM) on how to score the Speaking and Writing domains. Find the updated Test Administrator Manual in the resources section of the Alternate ACCESS for ELLs: Administration and Scoring training course in the WIDA Secure Portal.
In addition to the expanded guidance for Speaking and Writing scoring, notice these updates:
- Added WIDA’s transcription guidance for easy reference.
- Added more information on how to return field test materials.
Interim ELP Assessment Webinar Recording
Last month, WIDA senior assessment innovation manager, Mark Chapman, Ph.D., presented a webinar on the value of interim English Language Proficiency (ELP) Assessment data. In the webinar, Dr. Chapman provided an in-depth look into the purposes of interim assessments and shared several examples of how data can be used to inform instructional planning decisions for multilingual learners. Customer Service Hours of Operation- WIDA and DRC
The WIDA Client Services Center started extended hours on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
- Monday – Thursday: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT
- Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT
DRC Customer Service is open year-round Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT.
ACT Spring 2023 Junior Administration Additional Training Opportunities Coming Soon
In addition to the required ACT/KDE training on Nov. 8 or 9, which covers KDE policy and a deeper look at policy updates and what is new to the spring 2023 administration, ACT, Inc. is hosting a series of webinars the week of Nov. 14 to help testing staff conduct key tasks associated with the spring 2023 Junior administration.
Test Administration Training #1
Date and Time: Nov. 14 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Target Audience and Content: Any staff who will be involved in the completion of key pretest activities associated with the spring Junior administration of the ACT. This content will be recorded and posted to the ACT website if staff are unable to join during the scheduled date/time.
Accommodations Training
Date and Time: Nov. 15 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Target Audience and Content: Testing staff who are involved with requesting and administering exams to students who require ACT-authorized accommodations. This content will be recorded and posted to the ACT website if staff are unable to join during the scheduled date/time.
Office Hour - Select Test Date Task
Date and Time: Nov. 18 at 10:00 a.m. ET.
Target Audience and Content: Any staff who are involved with activities associated with the spring Junior administration of the ACT. This is an opportunity to connect with OAA and ACT staff to discuss the Select Test Dates task and any other matters associated with this spring’s administration.
