QUALITY CONTROL (QC) DAY DATA NOW AVAILABLE
The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA), along with District Assessment Coordinators (DACs), will conduct a QC Day from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. ET today. The purpose of the QC Day is to identify systemic issues in accountability data prior to any public release. During QC Day, DACs will receive data for each indicator, indicator labels of very high to very low, overall accountability performance color ratings and federal identifications. Data is being reviewed for systemic issues, not for individual student level changes, and if issues are found, it could change an individual school’s classification. This will be the last viewing of data prior to the embargoed release to districts. Schools and districts should not share the preliminary data beyond the leadership level during the QC Day process and all the data must be kept secure until public reporting. The data cannot be shared through email or in any public meetings. Public release of accountability data is tentatively scheduled for October 18 in the School Report Card (SRC).
To assist with the QC Review process, DACs will want to complete the following steps:
DACs review Summary Files and Spreadsheets from the Secure Web Application under Student Data Detail, if a nondisclosure has been submitted. The zipped files for each district can be found under the Student Data Detail- example of the file name "SD22_District number_QC_Day_2022_DistrictName_20220922.zip”. The zipped files contain folders. The folders contain spreadsheets for each school and district on the following:
-
Graduates
-
Postsecondary Readiness (PSR)
-
Tests - contains both content and ACCESS student data to validate. RD/MA, SC/SS/WR and EL indicator.
Note: The Postsecondary Readiness and English Learner Progress tabs in the Accountability Summary spreadsheet have been updated to include additional information and may not look exactly as displayed in the Preparation video. Additional data were added to benefit DACs.
Several additional folders/files are included for informational purposes. These include:
Calculator
English Language Proficiency (EL)
-
ACCESS for ELLS
-
EL Attainment
Graduation Rate
Quality of School Climate and Safety (QSCS)
If districts have difficulty accessing the secure web portal or the Student Data Review and Rosters (SDRR) application, please contact your district WAAPOC, who may contact the KETS Service Desk if needed for support. SDRR is for downloading the student listing and ticket listing, Cohort and Postsecondary Readiness Scores from Data Review only.
DACs complete the QC Day checklist of activities to analyze data.
Each district has been assigned a staff member in OAA for support.
At completion of analysis, DACs sign off on the Online QC Day checklist that data review was completed.
District staff should submit one form for each issue. DACs can submit as many forms as needed. After staff research the issues submitted, DACs will be emailed a response from the KDE Assessment general mailbox in the order received.
OAA staff will be available via Teams (instant message), email and phone. For efficiency, please contact the consultant assigned to your district below.
