Question of the Week
Q: Has the Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) updated the Administration Code and Inclusion of Special Populations Regulation Trainings?
A: Yes. The Administration Code and Inclusion of Special Populations Regulation Trainings have been updated to include the transition to online testing, among other updates and clarifications. The regulation has not changed. The training series has been updated to reflect the implementation of current assessments.
As of Aug. 15, the Administration Code and Inclusion of Special Populations Regulations updates are effective. The training series includes new overall videos and PowerPoints, module videos and module PowerPoints. The modules break each training session into sections to quickly load into a school Operating Management System (OMS). The regulation trainings are available on the Assessment Regulations Training page.

Inaccurate Dual Credit Data in Postsecondary Readiness Spreadsheets
The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) appreciates District Assessment Coordinators’ (DACs) thorough examination of individual student data released when the Student Data Review and Rosters (SDRR) application opened on August 11.
The review has revealed a data extraction error that resulted in some instances of incorrect Postsecondary Readiness data, specifically with the Academic and Career and Technical Education (CTE) dual credit (columns N, O, P).
Across the state, there are approximately 2,500 students that are currently marked "No" for Academic Dual Credit that should be marked "Yes,” and approximately 800 students that are currently marked "No" for CTE Dual Credit that should be marked "Yes.”
Amended Postsecondary Readiness data files will be available for review prior to Public Release. (Districts will get one more look at the data on Quality Control (QC) Day and will be able to report any systemic issues.)
DACs should review for other reasons that dual credit data could be displaying as “No,” but should be “Yes” such as Infinite Campus set up errors including using an incorrect course code (all academic dual credit courses should begin with 8000 {e.g., 800011 – Dual Credit Written Communications}) or failing to mark the course as dual credit. These errors should be corrected at the school or district level.
Students will be indicated as “Yes” for academic dual credit if they were scheduled in the appropriate course code on the student transcript (“8000” codes) AND earned a grade of “C” or higher.
Contact Scott U’Sellis with any questions on this matter.

Update: WIDA ELD Standards Framework, 2020 Digital Explorer Available Now
The WIDA ELD Standards Framework is now available in a digital format, allowing for quick and easy reference of grade-level cluster Language Expectations and Proficiency Level Descriptors (PLDs). Use the Digital Explorer to browse, select, and/or print only the components of the WIDA ELD Standards Framework that staff need. You can view Language Expectations and PLDs together, integrate sets of Language Expectations (e.g., Standard 1 and Standards 2-5) with each other, and easily identify what has changed from one grade-level cluster to the next and from one proficiency level to the next.
View The 2020 Edition webpage for more information and a link to the Digital Explorer.
