Question of the Week
Q: When will the ACT PearsonAccessnext (PAN) open for the Fall 2022 Senior Administration of the ACT?
A: The ACT PAN for the fall 2022 Senior administration will open Monday, Aug. 1. District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) and ACT Test Coordinators (TCs) will receive an email from NoReplyTestAdmin@act.org announcing the opening of the Select Test Dates and Verify Enrollment window. The deadline to complete this task is Friday, Aug. 26. The email message will include directions for accessing and completing required tasks within each system. It will also include links to system user guides with more detailed information.
If TCs have changed since spring 2022 testing, DACs should forward the ACT email to the new TC, create a new PAN account if needed, and then change the TC contact information in PAN. Directions for changing TCs can be found in the PAN User Guide for the ACT. For new DACs, please email Shara Savage to set up your new account.

Interim Assessment Research Study, Year Two
Pearson is entering year two of an interim assessment research study. One purpose of the research is to discover if interim assessments can efficiently measure student achievement and growth on Kentucky content standards, within and across school years. Pearson’s interim assessment system, Transcend, is designed to provide efficient, actionable achievement results and growth measures to district leaders, school leaders and teachers, on the same platform where students experience their state summative exam (TestNav).
Transcend focuses on alignment to the local scope and sequence/curriculum map, making it an assessment of learning, not just standards. This research project aligns to Kentucky standards and provides reports to the student, class, grade and district with the intent to support all stakeholders in the district.
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is supportive of Kentucky school districts participating in this ongoing research project with Pearson. The cost for Transcend will be $10 per student for grades 3 - 8. KDE will reimburse the district $5 per student at the end of the year. The district will pay the initial cost of the work to Pearson, then submit an invoice to KDE for the number of students who participated.
For any additional questions or to participate, please contact Dr. Laura Cain or Maritta Baker.
