Question of the Week
Q: Have the ACT Parental Consent Resources been released?
A: The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) and ACT have collaborated to provide districts and schools with valuable resources to assist with the Parental Consent Policy. The Parental Consent Form is required for all students under the age of 18 for each administration. Kentucky District Assessment Coordinators are responsible for recording students in their districts who are under 18 years of age and do not have parental consent to opt into ACT's Educational Opportunity Service (EOS) or select score recipients. Students who had consent in the spring 2022 for the junior ACT administration, and are still under 18, will need parental consent again in the fall 2022 senior administration to participate in the EOS system. Additionally, as preparations are made for back-to-school packets, please include the Parental Consent Form and the parent letter for all juniors who will be under the age of 18 for the spring 2023 junior ACT administration. Below are resources for testing staff and parents on parental consent policy:

WIDA Secure Portal Enhancements
Last week, the World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) implemented a number of enhancements to the WIDA Secure Portal in response to the WIDA Secure Portal User Survey in April and other feedback channels. WIDA hopes these changes help school and district staff more quickly and easily find courses and resources.
-
Now, test administrators can find a link to My Certifications on the home page, in the top menu bar, and on the left hand side of Assessment Training and Professional Learning course listings. Click on the link to see a complete list of all the current and past certifications in the WIDA Secure Portal.
-
The Enroll Now and Go to Course buttons are more prominently displayed on course details pages.
-
Filters on the Resources page have been updated to better reflect how survey participants categorize resources. Now, schools and district staff can quickly filter by resources for a particular test, a topic, or for a type of resource.
-
To skim the full list of resources, a Compact View option is now available. Click the toggle in the upper right of the resource list to hide the resource descriptions and quickly scan the page.
Thanks to all that gave feedback. The feedback helps WIDA make the portal a better and a more useful tool for secure portal users.

Graduation Codes (G-Codes) into Infinite Campus (IC) for the 2021-2022 school year Deadline - Reminder
The end of the school year is a very busy time and there are many actions to take to complete the year. As a reminder, the G-Codes are due soon. Rodney Bennett, with the Division of District Services, monitors G-code entry and the Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) will use that data for Graduation Rate reporting this fall in the School Report Card. The deadline for G-codes to be entered in IC is June 30. The G-code end status and graduation tab must be complete in IC for all summer school graduates by July 31. OAA will run and provide to districts initial graduation rates based on final year G-codes from June 30. OAA will monitor for any data quality issues and follow-up with DACs in July and calculate final graduation rates in early August based on any changes from summer graduates.
