KDE's Social Studies Advisory Panel and Review Committee to meet July 14

(FRANKFORT, KY) –The Kentucky Department of Education's (KDE's) Social Studies Advisory Panel and Review Committee will meet July 14 at 9 a.m. ET.

To meet the requirements of Section 4(3)(a) of Senate Bill 1 (2022), the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is reconvening the Social Studies Standards Advisory Panel (AP) and Review Committee (RC) to revise the Kentucky Academic Standards for Social Studies (704 KAR 8:060).

The Social Studies Standards Committees are composed of members of both the Advisory Panel and the Review Committee, which includes Kentucky elementary, middle and high school teachers, community members and members from postsecondary education institutions.

The meeting will be held in a hybrid setting. Observers can view this meeting live at KDE at 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort, KY 40601, or may view the meeting virtually utilizing the link below.
