Question of the Week
Q: Are additional steps required in PearsonAccessnext (PAN) once testing is complete?
A: Yes, stopping sessions in PAN is required. As schools and districts complete the 2022 Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) administration, please remember that all sessions with PAN must be stopped once testing has been completed. Some instances have districts concerned about whether they leave a student in a session or the impact it could have if they removed him/her. Provided below are two scenarios that might prevent a session from closing.
Students in a “Ready” status: If a student is still in a “Ready” status, this means the student has not logged in to the test. Any student who was listed in a session, but did not test will need to be removed from the session. Please know that this will not delete the student from the school roster, it will only remove them from a testing session. Once the student(s) are removed from the session, the session will need to be stopped.
Students in an “Active, Exited, Resumed, or Resume Upload” status: For these students it would be wise to check the test to see if the students just exited the test instead of submitting final answers. If the student attempted the test, the test would need to be marked complete. When doing this, PAN will ask for a reason why the student is marked complete. When prompted, please provide the reason the student was not tested.
Specific directions are included in the “After Testing” section beginning on page 37 of the Kentucky Summative Assessments (KSA) and Quality of School Climate and Safety Survey Spring 2022 Test Administrators Manual . For additional questions, please call Pearson Customer Support at 1-888-437-1430.
