Designing High-Quality Local Curriculum Pilot Applications Due Nov. 23
Following the unprecedented interruptions to learning resulting from COVID-19, states, districts and schools are retooling their systems and structures to ensure they can equitably support all students. Recognizing the importance of a high-quality local curriculum, including the selection of high-quality instructional resources, the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is beginning a pilot program connected to the Model Curriculum Framework to support districts and schools.
To address the diverse accelerated learning needs of students, there is a great need for schools and districts to design coherent curriculum that intentionally connects standards, instruction and assessment across classrooms. In the pilot program, KDE is seeking the participation of up to 32 schools from approximately 12 districts, representing the eight cooperative regions. This would account for participation of approximately 2-3 schools per district.
A recording of the technical assistance session and a pilot FAQ are available on the Model Curriculum Framework webpage.
Applications are due Nov. 23 by 5 p.m. ET.
More information, including application instructions, are available in the Designing High Quality Local Curriculum Pilot Application document.
