School Report Card – Action Needed by Sept. 10
The timeline for the School Report Card (SRC) approval and collection period ends on Friday, Sept. 10. The next milestone is to review assessment data prior to public release.
The Kentucky School Report Card Data Approval Tool remains open this week for districts and schools to (1) enter school-level collection data, (2) enter superintendent messages, and (3) approve data in the Overview and Education Opportunity domains.
New data available for review:
-
Education Opportunity/Advanced Coursework: Students with qualifying scores in advanced coursework - Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate. Cambridge Advanced International scores are not yet available.
-
Overview/Faculty Profile: Teachers with specialized certifications data is now available. This data is used in the School Profile Report.
New data to be added:
-
Education Opportunity/Career Pathways: This data is not yet available for review. Districts can go ahead and approve the domain and review the Career Pathways data later when it is loaded or during the embargo period.
-
Overview/Faculty Profile: Inexperienced teacher data will be updated to include teachers with 0-3 years’ experience to align with equity measures.
-
Academic Performance and Transition to Adult Life: This data will be available for review during the embargo period beginning Sept. 27 before public release on Sept. 29.
The timeline for public release of the SRC is:
-
Sept. 27 – Release to districts under embargo (districts may discuss results internally, but not in public meetings).
-
Sept. 28 – Release to working media under embargo (districts may discuss results with media, but not in public meetings).
-
Sept. 29 – Public release of the SRC.
Schools and districts should be in the process of:
- Reviewing and approving data in the Approval Tool. All districts should indicate approval at the district level. Districts have the option to have schools approve data before approving at the district level to ensure each school has reviewed data for accuracy and completeness. Districts can easily verify approval status on the schools dashboard or by using the download report.
- Confirm the landing page data for each organization level using the Preview Dashboard link within the Approval tool. Please ensure that principal and superintendent email addresses are correct. They should represent the current principals and superintendent, not prior year if different. SBDM and Board Members also should be verified and be representative of the membership from the 2020-2021 school year. Local board members are now reflecting on the district landing pages.
- Enter all school-level collector data and a district-level superintendent message. The superintendent message is optional; however, the school-level collector data is required for the School Profile Report and other reporting. The SRC Collection Items document provides detail on data that must be entered at the school level to meet federal and/or state reporting requirements. Districts can easily verify status using the Download/Collector Items report.
- Review the School Profile Report data entered into the collector and available in the Overview/Faculty Profile and Education Opportunity/General Education Coursework domains. Schools can print the School Profile from the download option and then get signatures. The School Profile Report should be available in the district board office by Oct. 1. Instructions for completing the School Profile Report are available on the SRC Resource Page.
Additional information is available on the SRC Resource Page. This includes timeline, prior communications and resources.
