Question of the Week
Q: How do districts prepare for Quality Control (QC) day?
A: There are a few steps District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) can take to prepare for QC Day.
-
Nondisclosure Preliminary Data QC Form – District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) must email their completed forms to KDE DAC Information prior to reviewing data. The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) expects schools and districts not to share the preliminary data beyond the leadership level during the QC process. Anyone viewing the data must complete the Nondisclosure Preliminary QC Data Form. DACs should collect and keep copies on file with name(s) of others with whom the DACs share the preliminary data.
-
KDE Applications - Login (ky.gov) –
- Since data will be shared through the Student Data Detail on Wednesday, Sept. 8, DACs should ensure they have access to the application.
- It will also be helpful to have the student listing and ticket listing that were downloaded at the end of the August Data Review period from the Student Data Review and Rosters (SDRR). If those were not downloaded at the end of data review, they can still be accessed from the Download page in the closed section of SDRR.
OAA looks forward to the collaboration with DACs on this critical next step in the quality assurance process.
Back to School 2021-2022: Assess, Teach, Grow with WIDA

Assessment Scores in IC
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) strives to publish student results data in Infinite Campus (IC) as it becomes available. KDE will publish June and July 2021 ACT National, 2021 International Baccalaureate (IB), July 2021 KYOTE, and more 2021 Advanced Placement (AP) assessments to all districts beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 31. All AP scores may not be available in Campus; KDE will continue to process the scores.

“Fairview Independent is a small district located in Boyd County. The Westwood community is very involved with the school district and the district takes pride in the family atmosphere present. The district is one of two independent schools within the county boundaries. The population of the school is composed of students who reside in all three school district boundary lines as well as neighboring counties. The population of the district stays right at 700 with two schools: Fairview Elementary and Fairview High School. The elementary serves grades PreK-5 and the high school serves grades 6-12.
“The Fairview Independent School District is quickly progressing in the area of student achievement. Some of the opportunities we are able to offer in the district include an ESS Excelling Eagles After-School Program that involves school staff, parents, and community members, industry certifications, and dual credit courses. As a district, we have focused a great deal on the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process and ways to increase teacher awareness of instructional practices and the correlation to their formative and summative assessment data. Our district-wide PLC process is based on the Plan-Do-Study-Act system for continuous improvement, as well as the DuFour Model for PLCs. Other exciting things happening in our district include a completely redesigned multi-tiered system of support process, vertical alignment of curriculum, and instructional coaching.
“In our district, it is our belief that, as a team, we will be difference makers in the lives of our students by giving each child our best in everything that we do. Our goal is to help each student succeed in grade-level mastery of standards, as well as focusing on developing the whole child and building relationships with families and the community. Great things are happening in the Fairview Independent School District!”
