Question of the Week
Q: Has the date for the Quality Control (QC) Day been confirmed?
A: Yes. Quality Control Day (QC Day) will be held Wednesday, Sept. 8. The review of data will begin at 9 a.m. ET.
The purpose of the QC Day is to identify systemic issues in data prior to any public release. During QC Day, District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) will receive assessment data. Data are being reviewed for systemic issues, and if issues are found, it could change an individual school’s information. This will be the last viewing of data prior to the embargoed release to districts. Public release of accountability data is scheduled for late September or early October.
The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) will provide a recorded training to prepare DACs for QC Day. The recorded training is designed to be completed independently prior to Sept. 8.
K Screen Rosters in SDRR
Kindergarten Screen (K Screen) rosters are opening in the Student Data Review and Rosters (SDRR) application on Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. and will close on Oct. 15 at noon ET for new tickets. The purpose of opening SDRR is for schools and districts to file a medical nonparticipation request for students unable to participate in the assessment. It is important to note that students will not be pre-loaded in SDRR. District or school staff will only need to add students to the student listing if requesting approval for medical nonparticipation; do not add students who are taking the assessments.

Save and submit the spreadsheet as the district name-2021-2022 Window 1 VI Listing. Only one list containing all students who qualify for this accommodation should be provided per district.

Reminder: 2021-2022 CTE EOP Assessment Coordinator Registration due Sept. 1
As a friendly reminder, District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) were requested to review last year’s (2020-2021) Career and Technical Education (CTE) End-of-Program (EOP) Assessment Coordinator and E-SESS administrative accounts to verify if the information is still accurate and should be renewed for 2021-2022. One CTE EOP Assessment Coordinator assignment/renewal is required for each secondary school offering CTE courses and planning to administer the CTE EOP Assessment or Skilled Trades TRACK Assessment in 2021-2022. “The Dayton Independent School District, consisting of Lincoln Elementary and Dayton High, is located in Northern Kentucky alongside the Ohio River and minutes away from downtown Cincinnati. Lincoln Elementary serves 451 students in grades preschool through sixth grade, and Dayton High School serves 389 students in grades 7-12. The mission statement of Dayton Independent Schools, which both schools have adopted, is to Inspire, Engage and Grow each of our Students. The students and teachers have been living that mission ever since that became the district’s mission statement eight years ago.
“Lincoln Elementary School provides free half-day preschool to qualifying 3-year-olds and all of Dayton's 4-year-olds; Dayton also collaborates with Head Start to provide a free, full day classroom located in Lincoln Elementary. A goal of the district for Lincoln Elementary is to get as many books in the hands of students as possible. All preschool classrooms participate in a “Book-A-Week” program in which all children receive one book per week along with embedded activities for students to do with their parents at home. This initiative has been extended to three community childcare agencies along with offering Play and Learn sessions in order to engage families with infants and toddlers.
“Dayton High has been focusing its efforts on finding opportunities for students to add a “Plus” to their high school diploma. A goal of the district for Dayton High is to have all juniors and seniors leave the school campus for half of the day to pursue their “Plus” upon graduation. Those opportunities include attending class at one of the following places: Campbell County Area Technology Center, CTE Dual Credit Courses at Gateway for classes in the IT field, Health Care field, Logistics field or the Skilled Trades field, Dual Credit Courses at Gateway for college bound students, or students participating in an internship/work-based learning environment.
“Providing books to students and providing students opportunities to pursue their “Plus” are two ways Dayton Independent Schools lives its mission to Inspire, Engage and Grow each of our Students!”
