(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education's (KDE's) Science Advisory Panel (AP) and Review Committee (RC), originally scheduled for June 28, 2021, was postponed after public observers were unable to access the virtual meeting link.
The Science AP and RC met via video teleconference. The call to order, roll call, and the approval of the meeting agenda were addressed prior to the meeting postponement. The meeting recording may be accessed on YouTube.
KDE will work with committee members to reschedule the meeting at a future date.
KRS 158.6453 calls for the KDE to implement a process for reviewing all academic standards and aligned assessments beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. The schedule calls for one or two content areas to be reviewed each year and every six years after that on a rotating basis.
Jointly, the Science AP and RC are composed of thirty-nine members, including elementary, middle and high school teachers from across the state.
