ICYMI: “Three-Dimensional Tasks” Science Module
The Science Professional Learning Module, “Three-Dimensional Tasks,” supports learning associated with the Balanced Assessment Professional Learning Modules Series. The “Three-Dimensional Tasks” module provides a great opportunity for teachers to develop clear learning goals for science tasks as they prepare for next year.
This module is divided into two sessions. Session A introduces participants to tools that can be used to analyze tasks for key components, such as dimensionality, equity and phenomena. Session B leads participants through the development of learning goals and tasks associated with those goals.
This module is best completed as part of a professional learning community.
Resources for Summer Learning
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) supports family engagement all year long. During the school year, the Standards Family Guides are a resource parents and caregivers may use to initiate conversations with their children regarding what they are learning at school. Learning can continue when school is not in session. The summer months are an opportunity to encourage families to enjoy literacy and numeracy experiences together in their own homes.
To support educators, parents, families and caregivers in encouraging summer learning, KDE is providing resources through the Summer Support webpages to help keep children's minds active. Available resources include:
