Intermittent Internet Outage
An intermittent Internet outage is happening statewide. It affects the entire state, not one specific district or area.
From the KETS service desk, “At this time, connectivity to the internet appears to be stable. As the issue is still under investigation, we are not yet able to give the all clear. Please notify the KETS Service Desk if you are still experiencing the issue.”
This could potentially impact testing currently happening. It is intermittent so it may look like a testing issue to the students and test administrators when it is in fact the Internet.
School and district staff may continue or postpone testing until the intermittent issue is resolved. District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) and Building Assessment Coordinators (BACs) should communicate and coordinate with District Technology Coordinators to understand the impact for the local district.
For districts that choose to continue testing, TestNav attempts to upload any unsaved responses when a student navigates forward or backward in a test (or every 120 seconds on an essay). If TestNav cannot successfully upload responses to the testing servers it will create an encrypted SRF file in the file save locations (designated in the TestNav configuration being used by the organization in PearsonAccessnext). TestNav will then notify the student there is a connectivity issue and stop them from continuing further in the test.
A Special DAC Email will be sent once the intermittent outage is resolved.
