Question of the Week
Q: What are the procedures in the Student Data Review and Rosters (SDRR) application if a student is In-Person and quarantined or if a student is Virtual and does not test or is in quarantine?
A: For students that are VIRTUAL but did NOT participate in the assessment due to COVID concerns:
-
No action is needed in SDRR for this student.
-
Leave the student on the SDRR roster.
-
Do not request a medical nonparticipation in SDRR, if the reason the student is unable to test is because the student is virtual or the parent doesn’t want the student to test because of COVID-19 concerns.
-
Make certain the student is coded correctly in Infinite Campus (IC).
-
Use the blended learning group in IC to assign the virtual student.
-
Document effort made to test the student and keep a record of that effort locally. (Do not submit this to the Kentucky Department of Education {KDE}.)
-
Remove the student from PearsonAccessnext (PAN) sessions, if he/she was assigned to a session.
KDE will use the blended learning group information from IC this summer to determine if a student was virtual during the test window. This is a look at each day of the test window, not just the first day.
For students that are IN-PERSON and then quarantined during the window:
-
Make certain the student is coded correctly in IC.
-
A medical nonparticipation request is needed for this student.
-
Leave the student on the SDRR Roster.
-
Upload a fully completed medical nonparticipation form in SDRR, if the student will not return to complete the assessment.
-
Students who will return before the end of the window should be tested.
-
For K-PREP and Alternate K-PREP, please select the content areas for which you are requesting a medical nonparticipation. (Do NOT select any content areas for which the student participated in the test.)
The SDRR Spring Roster Window is open until June 15.
Alternate K-PREP Testing Window to Close
The Alternate K-PREP testing window for administration of Attainment Tasks will end Friday, May 28. This is the only window for the 2020-2021 school year set to assess content standards for reading, mathematics, science, social studies, and writing. No tasks may be administered after May 28 without approval by the Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA).
Student Registration Database (SRD) and Career Readiness Database (CRD) Closing
Score entry for the Alternate K-PREP test window will officially end on Friday, June 4. All access to the Student Registration Database (SRD) and Career Readiness Database (CRD) will close at that time. Due to timelines for early fall reporting, KDE (OAA and CTE) will not be able to provide extensions past the June 4 deadline.

K Screen 2021-2022 Staff File Submission Deadline June 15
In order to build the Online Management System (OMS) staff file for the 2021-2022 school year, the existing staff file must be edited. The District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) must access the spreadsheet from the KDE Secure Web Applications site and choose Student Data Detail (Excel and PDF). The staff file is included in the Excel spreadsheet: SD22_districtnumber_K_Sreeen _Users_DistrictName_XXXXXX.xlsx.
The district’s spreadsheet will be pre-populated with the information originally submitted for the 2020-2021 school year. The spreadsheet provides a list of staff with specific roles that Curriculum Associates will use to build the Brigance OMS each year. Please review and make any corrections or additions as needed. Please email the updated staff file by June 15 to KDE Assessment.
Note: As mentioned in the K Screen Refresh Webcast Training, districts do not need to add teachers into the staff file for the 2021-2022 school year. Only district administrators and data entry clerks need to be added to the Staff File.
DACs who are unable to access the KDE secure web applications site, should check with their WAAPOC and/or the KETS Service Desk. The KETS Service Desk can also be reached at (502) 564-2002 or (866) 538-7435.
