Thank You!
Thank you for attending a March training session! The professional learning opportunity is beneficial to your SBDM role as a coordinator or trainer and serves as the endorsement necessary for this important work.
This year we explored several new training opportunities that will be available for the upcoming training season, as well as reviewed the newly amended SBDM regulation. The Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE) goal was to ensure you are equipped with SBDM and training updates, which are pertinent to the success of school-based decision making councils and the students in each of those schools.
If you were not able to attend one of the endorsement sessions, email Ashlie Cox as soon as possible so that further guidance can be provided.
School Councils and Budgets Online Module
As shared during the March endorsement webinar, KDE is offering a new online module for experienced council members this year, which will be accessible through Moodle.
Online modules are a convenient, self-paced option for council members unable to attend a live training. New members are not encouraged to enroll in the online course, as it is important that KDE-endorsed trainers spend time with new members and provide immediate interaction and feedback related to what is expected of them as newly elected council members.
The online module is free to any interested member. Enrollment information will be forthcoming in a newsletter.
The online course will flow in order of the traditional module found on the SBDM Training webpage. Some of the activities have been modified to make them compatible to the online format. The online module includes recorded videos, PowerPoint slides, online quizzes and discussion questions.
