KDE seeking feedback on revised state performance goals for Perkins V due to COVID-19

(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is seeking feedback on revised state performance goals proposed by the Perkins V Steering Committee for the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act – also known as Perkins V.

Kentucky is seeking to revise these performance goals as many of the indicators have been drastically affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This is the only opportunity for public review and comment on the revised performance goals.

The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act requires KDE to provide stakeholders with the opportunity to provide written comments, which will be included in the state plan, regarding proposed state levels of performance on each indicator.

Individuals or organizations may review the revised goals and share feedback and suggestions for use in the state plan through 5 p.m. ET April 2. Feedback and comments will be considered and any needed revisions made before bringing forward a final set of revised goals to the Kentucky Board of Education.

The proposed performance goals can be reviewed on the Perkins V webpage on KDE’s website. Comments and feedback can be sent via email to octestinfo@education.ky.gov.
