Online Ordering for the 2021-2022 School Year
Starting March 1, Curriculum Associates is accepting orders for the 2021-2022 school year. The ordering window will be open until April 16.
To place district orders for the 2021-2022 school year, visit the Kentucky Brigance website, Under the section labeled "Ordering," click on "2021 Order Form." Download the order form, click to enable editing and save the file after replacing “Curriculum Associates” with the district name. For example, the file name would change from Curriculum Associates KY BRIGANCE Form 2021 to Franklin Co KY BRIGANCE Form 2021.
Once all information is entered into the three tabs, save the spreadsheet and email as an attachment to Curriculum Associates at FulfillmentOps@cainc.com. A confirmation email will be sent after the submission has been received.
If further guidance is needed, watch this step-by-step instructional video.
2020-2021 K Screen Window Still Open
The K Screen Window for the 2020-2021 school year is still open.
At its Aug. 6 meeting, the Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) approved a waiver of the Kindergarten Screen administration and reporting windows as set forth in 704 KAR 5:070. The waiver removes the restricted screening window of 15 days prior to the first day of school through the 30th instructional day after. Schools may begin screening students at any time and the window will remain open until further notice.
The expanded time frame will allow for most students to be screened. The document "Kentucky Summative Assessment Administration Guidance 2020-2021 School Year" provides guidance on state administered assessments.
Examples of Screening Scenarios
Students attend school in-person: Screen the students following safety expectations provided in the "Guidance on Safety Expectations and Best Practices for Kentucky Schools (K-12)" document. Enter Prior Settings information into Infinite Campus (IC).
Students attend school virtually: There is no remote administration option for the kindergarten screen.
The K Screen administration is available for in-person administration only. If some or all students return to in-person instruction or other meetings prior to the close of the K Screen, they should be screened. Students who enroll or transfer and have not received the K Screen should have the K Screen administered. If a student enrolls or transfers from another Kentucky School, view their screening status in the Online Management System (OMS). It may take up to one week for their information to appear in OMS.
Many students across the state have been taking the K Screen. The decision to bring students into the building for administration of the K Screen should be determined in conjunction with the elementary school administration and central office staff. These decisions should be made in accordance with health guidelines at the time of testing. Safety expectations provided in the "KDE COVID-19 Guidance 2.0" should be followed during administration.
