Assessment Playbook cover

Announcing the Spring 2021 Online Study: The Assessment Playbook for Distance and Blended Learning!

Assessments are an essential link between teaching and learning. This self-paced study gives educators across the state an opportunity to dig deeper into how to assess what students have learned in the distance learning setting. This playbook empowers teachers with the decision-making tools needed to gauge the impact of instructional strategies regardless of the learning setting.

The spring 2021 online study will be facilitated by Misty Higgins and Carrie McDaniel, professional learning coordinators at the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE). A Google Classroom format will allow participants to work at their own pace as they read and interact with the community. More information regarding the topics covered in the study are available in the spring 2021 online study flier.

The first 150 people to register will receive the book for free!

Register for the spring 2021 online study by Jan. 19.

Distance Learning Playbook Book Study Learning Plan and Resource Guide Now Available!

Designed by the KDE professional learning coordinators during the fall of 2020 with more than 500 educators participating from across the state, the Distance Learning Playbook Book Study was a huge success. It now has been packaged in a form you can use to facilitate your own group.

The plan can be modified to set a pace and emphasis that is appropriate for your group. Using a Google Classroom environment to encourage reflection and group discussion worked well for KDE, but using notebooks and synchronous collaboration time may work better for your group.

The Distance Learning Playbook Book Study Learning Plan and Resource Guide can be accessed on the new Topic Studies webpage.
