Kentucky School for the Deaf Advisory Board to meet virtually Nov. 30

(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) Advisory Board will meet virtually on Nov. 30 at 3 p.m. ET. 

The Kentucky General Assembly requires that the KSD have an advisory board per KRS 167.037. The advisory board acts in an advisory capacity to assist the commissioner of education and the KSD administration on how the school can best meet the specialized education and cultural needs of the community of students it serves.

The KSD Advisory Board will set aside 30 minutes for public comments. Individuals wishing to address the KSD Advisory Board must sign up to speak before the meeting begins, and provide his or her name and the issue they wish to speak on. This information should be sent to Scott Haun, chair of the KSD Advisory Board, at scot606@aol.com no later than one day prior to the scheduled meeting date.

Individuals addressing the KSD Advisory Board will be provided five minutes each. The KSD Advisory Board has the right to set limits on the topics that may be addressed to ensure relevance to the function and purpose of the board.

Pursuant to Executive Order 2020-243 and a memorandum issued by the Finance and Administration Cabinet dated March 16, 2020, and in an effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the board will meet via video teleconference.
