‘Understanding Formative Assessment’ Module Now Available!
The need for high-quality formative assessment is especially critical this year due to shifts between remote and in-person learning. Educators need to be able to gauge student understanding and adjust instruction appropriately.
Through this module, participants will build a common understanding of formative assessment practice. The module will both define formative assessment and take a closer look at the assessment cycle in the formative assessment process. The module also will focus on taking a closer look at developing student ownership through building a culture of formative assessment practices in the classroom.
The "Understanding Formative Assessment" module is the second part in our Balanced Assessment series and is available on the Balanced Assessment Professional Learning Modules webpage. The module consists of a PowerPoint and Facilitator’s Guide and an additional PowerPoint and Facilitator’s Guide for a Teacher Collaboration activity. An overview video is available to provide orientation to all the components.
