School Report Card to be available to media under embargo on Oct. 12

(FRANKFORT, KY) – The annual public release of Kentucky’s School Report Card is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 14. Active working media will be able to view the data from the 2019-2020 school year under embargo beginning 8 a.m. ET MondayOct12 

To gain access to the embargoed data, media contacts will need to send an email to Communications Adviser Tiffany Meredith by 5 p.m. ET Oct. 9Media that request access will receive an email from the Kentucky Department of Education (kyde@public.govdelivery.com) with the URL and password(s) to access the 2019-2020 School Report Card preview site. 

The embargo will be lifted at 8 a.m. ET Oct. 14. If you violate the embargo, it could result in you and your media outlet not receiving embargoed data in the future. 

COVID-19 impacted what is available in this School Report Card. Assessment detail is limited to Kindergarten Screen and ACCESS for English Learners. Accountability was waived by the U.S. Department of Education for 2019-2020 and is not reported. More information about what is available is detailed iCOVID-19 Impacts on Reporting Components on the Kentucky School Report Card. 

Links to a preview site with state highlights will be included in the email on Oct. 12. Keep in mind that this year has been unprecedentedBest efforts have been made to review School Report Card data at the state, district and local levels; however, we encourage the media to contact the school, district or state if you find data that does not appear correct. Data quality is always a priority, but it cannot be guaranteed.
