Kentucky Board of Education to meet Dec. 4

Commissioner to host State of Education in the Commonwealth address Dec. 3

(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) will hold its regularly scheduled December board meeting next week. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET Dec. 4 at the Kentucky Department of Education, located at 300 Sower Blvd., in Frankfort. It will be held in room 514 on the 5th floor. 

The meeting will be webcast live on the Kentucky Department of Education's Media Portal. 

The State of Education in the Commonwealth address will take place 5 p.m. ET on Dec. 3, where Kentucky Education Commissioner Wayne D. Lewis Jr., will deliver the Kentucky Department of Education's annual report, which will highlight recent K-PREP, ACT and NAEP test scores, transition readiness and current trends in Kentucky education. Lewis will present four awards for innovation and excellence in educational leadership and also speak about the work of the department in 2019 and what's to come in 2020. The event also will be webcast on the media portal.
