Kentucky Board of Education to meet Aug. 6 and 7

(FRANKFORT, KY) –The Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) will meet for its annual retreat and regular August board meeting next week. The retreat will be held 9 a.m. ET Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Berry Mansion, 700 Louisville Rd., in Frankfort. Topics and speakers were selected for the retreat by the Kentucky Board of Education to align with efforts to increase student success and close the achievement gap. No official business will be conducted. The retreat is open to the public.

After the retreat, KBE will meet in a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. ET to consider the recommendation of the awards committee for the Kelly Award for Business and Education Partnerships.

The board’s regular August meeting will take place 8:30 a.m. ET Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 300 Sower Blvd., 5th floor – State Board Room (#514), in Frankfort. The meeting will be webcast live.
