(FRANKFORT, Ky.) – A joint meeting of the Financial Literacy Standards Business and Education Committee (BEC) and Revision and Writing Committee (RWC) will be held on Friday, March 29, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. ET in Room 516 at the Kentucky Department of Education, 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort.
Senate Bill 1 (2017) calls for the Kentucky Department of Education to implement a process for reviewing all academic standards beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. The current schedule calls for one or two content areas to be reviewed each year and every six years after that on a rotating basis.
The Financial Literacy Standards BEC is comprised of six business partners, three high school teachers and one member from postsecondary education. The RWC is comprised of six high school teachers and one member from postsecondary education.
