(Frankfort, KY) – A joint meeting of the Career Studies Business and Education Committee and Revision and Writing Committee will be 10 a.m.-3 p.m. ET Friday, March 22, in Room 516 at the Kentucky Department of Education, 300 Sower Blvd., in Frankfort.
Senate Bill 1 (2017) calls for the Kentucky Department of Education to implement a process for reviewing all academic standards beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. The current schedule calls for one or two content areas to be reviewed each year and every six years after that on a rotating basis.
The Career Studies Standards Business and Education Committee is comprised of five business partners, three teachers – one from each grade band (elementary, middle and high school) – and one member from postsecondary education. The Revision and Writing Committee is comprised of nine teachers – including three from each grade band – and one member from postsecondary education.
