MUSGRAVE NAMED DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT RELATIONS FOR DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

(FRANKFORT, KY) - Kentucky Department of Education Commissioner Wayne Lewis today announced the hiring of Christopher Musgrave as director of government relations for the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE). He began his role with the department Feb. 5. Musgrave previously served as a field director for the Club for Growth, and as a field representative for U.S. Senator Rand Paul. He also practiced law in Kentucky’s 27th judicial district.

“Christopher brings to KDE a wealth of experience in government relations and working with elected officials. Additionally, his legal background and expertise will serve the department well in his new role,” said Lewis.

Musgrave is a graduate of Knox Central High School and attended Knox County Vocational School, where he received an industry certification in computer repair and networking. He graduated from University of the Cumberlands with a degree in Political Science in 2006, and received his law degree from the Appalachian School of Law in Virginia in 2009.

“Although I have spent my career outside of education, I am a product of Kentucky public schools. I look forward to working with Commissioner Lewis, his team, and members of the Kentucky General Assembly to ensure that each Kentucky student is equipped to pursue a successful future,” said Musgrave.
