BIG NEWS FOR SNAP E&T

Employment and Training (E&T) is now available to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients in the following Path 2 Promise counties:

  • Bell
  • Clay
  • Harlan
  • Knox
  • Leslie
  • Letcher
  • Perry
  • Whitley

As of October 1, 2019, residents in all 8 counties will have access to E&T. Beginning January 1, 2020, all SNAP recipients who are able-bodied adults without children or who do not meet an exemption should complete an average of at least 20 hours per week of one of the following to remain eligible:

  • In-kind work
  • Volunteer
  • Participate in the E&T program

The E&T program is an opportunity for SNAP beneficiaries ages 16 up to 60 to participate in training, education, or work program activities. The E&T program provides resources needed to reach employment goals.

Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation

is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center with nine different clinics that provide services to over 41,000 patients in Letcher, Perry, Owsley, Harlan, and Bell counties. Additionally, MCHC operates 15 school-based clinics in the Letcher County Public Schools, Jenkins Independent Schools, Owsley County Public Schools and Pineville Independent Schools.

MCHC patients have access to:

  • Nurse advice lines
  • Chronic Care Management
  • SUD treatment
  • Comprehensive Diabetes Program
  • A healthy foods program called FARMACY
  • 340B Prescription Drug Pricing Program
