Building & Development
Work is underway on the Fox Ridge Addition phase 1 sewer project. At City staff’s request, the contractor installed a construction entrance off of 14th Street Connector due to neighborhood concerns about construction traffic.
Police Department
In case you missed it: Shout-out to School Resource Officer (SRO) Lanna Carroll who went above and beyond on Wednesday to help a Chisholm Middle School student repair their bike in order to get home after school.
Our SROs are an invaluable resource and connection between our Police Department, school district, and students. We are fortunate to have such great relationships. Thank you, SRO Carroll, for being such a positive force for the youth of our community!

Roadtrip Nation on PBS
We are pleased to report that the south-central Kansas region is being featured on the PBS Series “Roadtrip Nation”! If you aren’t familiar with the show, it features a group of young individuals, usually college-age students, that travel in an RV and take a deep dive into their home state’s career possibilities. From aerospace and advanced manufacturing to healthcare and agriculture, south-central Kansas has a diverse economy and many career opportunities!
The two-part series, Paths Across Kansas, is being broadcast on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5, at 8:30 PM. You can also watch online if you miss an episode.
Along with the film, Roadtrip Nation also created the Wichita Build Your Future website dedicated to career pathways and storytelling in south-central Kansas. The tools and resources generated from this project will help to inspire and motivate the next generation of talented leaders in our area. Special thanks to the Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas, Wichita Public Schools, Wichita State University, WSU Tech, the State of Kansas, Strada Foundation, Textron Aviation, Spirit AeroSystems, and Bank of America for their leadership and sponsorship of this great program and event!
