Police
Last week our team attended the Kansas Peace Officers Association (KPOA) conference in Wichita along with officers all over the state. All ranks of officers were present from patrol to chiefs, and directors from the KBI and CPOST.
NPD Sgt. Luke Winslow was invited to teach a session about use of force, based on NPD’s policy and procedures. Sgt. Winslow has instructed on this topic in a variety of places throughout the state and has received outstanding reviews because he uses real-life examples of how to and how not to use force.
This is just another example of the hard work NPD has done over these past few years as we strive for excellence, and we are sharing our knowledge and expertise throughout the state. We are very proud of Sgt. Winslow and NPD!
Coffee & Cops
Reminder, NPD is partnering with Norm’s Coffee Bar for an upcoming community outreach event – Coffee & Cops. In honor of National Coffee Day, Newton officers will be at Norm’s on Sept. 29 from 7-10 a.m. helping to serve delicious drinks. This kind of event is a great way for our officers to interact with our citizens out in the community!
