Work will begin next week on the interior of the roundabout at First Street and I-135.
The City’s contractor, Vogts-Parga Construction, will be laying concrete in a pattern similar to the Broadway roundabout completed in 2021. The City’s Parks Division will later add plantings in the newly created beds.
Redesign of the roundabouts is intended to beautify entry points to the community. The previous design with its large area, shade and heavy vehicle traffic has made landscaping a challenge.
The circle will remain open to traffic during construction. The project is anticipated to be complete by the first week of May.
