Around the Circle - March 12

Canal goes green Friday

For the 18th straight year, the folks at the Hoosier Lottery help Indianapolis kick off St. Patrick’s Day by making the downtown canal run green. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the fun. The “Greening of the Canal” takes place from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday on the canal at Ohio and West St.

Put on your greenest outfit and come out for live music, dancing, special celebrity appearances and a whole lot of St. Paddy’s Day fun. The event also features prize drawings and enjoy live music by Irish folk singer Eunan McIntyre leading up to the greening at approximately 5:45 p.m.

Walking group hopes to venture outside soon

Spring weather is just around the corner which means that the IGC Walking Group soon ventures back outside. Now is the time to get your body ready to walk outside again.

Prepare now by joining the IGC Walking Group for 30 minutes of indoor walking on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We hope that March brings us some days that allow our group to get outside. The group walks inside when the temperature at noon is below 50 degrees or if it rains.

The group meets in the Atrium of the IGC-South building when walking inside or by the Abraham Lincoln statue on Orr Plaza when walking outside. We have three different walking groups that walk at a variety of speeds, so walkers of any level are welcome. We hope to see you there! Preview the market at Ag Day March 25

Every Thursday in the summer employees in downtown Indianapolis have the opportunity to take a break from their work and stroll outside to purchase lunch from Indy’s food trucks and fresh produce from farmers. But what journey does the food take from the field to the Statehouse Market?
