Renew Online
- You may renew your license online 24 hours a day/7 days a week with the IPLA online renewal service, paying with your Visa, Discover, or MasterCard credit or debit card. To expedite the renewal process, we recommend that you renew online.

Barber and Barber Instructor: Login ID is your primary license number and your password is the last 4 digits of your social security number.

Barber Shop: Both the Login ID and Password are the barber shop license number.
- The renewal fee is $44.37 ($40 renewal fee + $4.37 in processing fees).
- The online renewal process takes only minutes to complete and your renewal will be processed and available for verification the next business day.

After your license is renewed, you will need to go online to order your license card at: https://mylicense.in.gov/EGov/Login.aspx . When ordering your license card, you will have the option of printing a free license card or purchasing a blue certificate on card stock. Both licenses meet your posting requirement.
Late Fees
If your license expires, you may renew after the September 1, 2011 expiration date, but you will be assessed a $50 late fee in addition to the standard renewal fees. Please be aware that there are no exceptions - if you renew late you must pay the late renewal fee.
Paper Renewal
If you need to renew your license by mail, please visit our website here http://www.in.gov/pla/files/Cosmetology_Barber_Blank_Renewal_Form_2010.pdf to download a renewal form. You must complete the form and return it, along with your check or money order, to the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. The address is provided on your paper form. Allow 4-6 weeks for the processing of all paper renewals.
Name Changes
In order to change your name on your license, please send a copy of your name change documentation (a copy of your social security card, marriage license, divorce decree, or legal name change document) to pla12@pla.in.gov or fax it to 317-233-4236. Please be sure that your name change has been processed prior to ordering a license card.

Email is the primary method of communication that Indiana Professional Licensing Agency uses to correspond with its licensees. Please be sure that you update your email and mailing address with our agency.
