Investing in your health can be as simple as getting the
influenza vaccine (flu shot). The flu is a contagious respiratory illness
that can cause mild to severe illness. Even if you are not on the state’s
health plans you should consider getting immunized to prevent or reduce the
seriousness of the illness during this upcoming season.
When choosing a provider for the vaccination, be mindful of
the price. Even though the state’s plan covers the vaccination, keep in
mind that all claims by plan members affect the cost of insurance premiums from
year-to-year. The lower our overall spend, the lower our rates.
This year Kroger is offering the best pricing to state
employees. Either attend one of the onsite clinics or stop by any
participating Kroger in your community to receive the shot at the discounted
price. Now that’s a wise investment.
For customers paying for flu
shots without using benefits, local costs are:
-
Kroger: $25
-
Walmart: $25
-
Sam’s
Club: $18
-
CVS: $31.99
