All month long, police officers across the state have been out in greater numbers working to keep Hoosiers safe as they travel during the holiday season. The Safe Family Travel campaign is one of several mobilizations conducted by ICJI’s Traffic Safety Division to reduce crashes and traffic fatalities, which have surged during the pandemic due to an increase in reckless driving. The overtime patrols are funded by NHTSA and will last through the new year.
