In July, Serve Indiana had the pleasure of celebrating Mark Zimmerman as our newest Ambassador!
After retiring from human resource management, Mark was inspired to serve through AmeriCorps. He joined AmeriCorps in Northwest Indiana. His first year, he served as a Volunteer Recruiter at Dayspring Women's Shelter and three years working with high school students as a Career Advisor at the Porter County Career Center in Valparaiso.
Mark is presently volunteering through the United Way of Porter County's RSVP program serving as a truck driver and meals delivery for the Porter County Visiting Nurses Meals on Wheels program. We are so inspired by Mark's commitment to give back!

Center for Interfaith Cooperation is a community that pursues peace through interfaith understanding and cooperation.
Since its formation in 2011, CIC has built up a large, robust, and diverse network of trusted relationships with Central Indiana congregations, colleges and universities, and civic and community organizations.
Center for Interfaith Cooperation provides safe environments, resources, and opportunities for service to increase religious literacy, build empathy between faiths, and facilitate interfaith encounters.
Every year CIC organizes Indy Festival of Faiths, Indiana’s largest one-day celebration of our diverse religious landscape. Over the past eight years, the festival has steadily grown in the number of organizations participating, the number of people in attendance, and the diversity of activities offered.
The 9th annual Indy Festival of Faiths will be Sunday September 26th. The theme for this year’s festival is “Sharing Gifts of Faith: Compassion, Resilience, & Hope.” Out of respect for everyone's safety, this year's festival has been moved to an online format.
Since the CIC Festival of Faiths virtual, They can host a lot more booths than their physical space would have allowed with social distancing. CIC would like to extend the offer to other AmeriCorps programs to hosts an exhibit with them on the afternoon of 9/26.This is a great opportunity to spread the word about new or existing faith-based initiatives, and to network with lay and professional faith leaders that can learn more about resources or programs you offer and share with their congregation. Email aimee@centerforinterfaithcooperation.org to get your booth fee comped.
