Commission Chair, Stefonie Sebastian and Vice Chair Jo Yocum
Stefonie Sebastian is the Senior Service Engagement Specialist with the National FFA Organization, which is a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than 760,000 student members across the country, that is headquartered in Indianapolis.
Ms. Sebastian is a native of Mishawaka, IN is proud to say that she was #MadeInAmeriCorps. After receiving a degree in Anthropology-Linguistics, from Brown University, she served a term as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member at the South Bend Center for the Homeless and then became an AmeriCorps*VISTA Leader with the Indiana Department of Education.
As the newly elected chair of the Serve Indiana Commission, Stefonie is eager to work closely with Serve Indiana staff to advance service and volunteerism across the state and administer AmeriCorps funding. She continues to live the AmeriCorps pledge to bring Americans together to strengthen communities and get things done!
Our new Vice Chair Jo Yocum, is Vice President of Field Operations for Playworks.
Jo Yocum started her tenure with Playworks as the executive director of Playworks Indiana in January 2017 leading the strategic growth of the region from providing services in just 9 Indianapolis schools to more than 75 Schools and youth serving organizations throughout the state and in Kentucky. She now manages a multi-regional team responsible for Playworks operations in Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois and surrounding states and is the organization’s national AmeriCorps lead.
Jo’s more than 18 years of experience includes work at education and health-related organizations (including two other large AmeriCorps organizations), where she focused on organizational development, strategic planning, fundraising, volunteer cultivation, and event management at the local, multi-regional, and national level. She holds a bachelors degree in cultural anthropology from Hanover College and completed a Nonprofit Executive Leadership fellowship at Northwestern University. Jo is an alumna of the AmeriCorps, a Commissioner on the Serve Indiana Commission, and an advocate for the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer .
Both Stefonie and Jo are familiar faces to the Commission and we are excited to see how they seamlessly transition into their new roles, welcome and congratulations!
Serve Indiana Commission Chair Mark Eutsler, has served his three year term. This month's Commission meeting was his last in this role. Yet, we're not saying goodbye!
Eutsler is staying on the commission and we could not be more thrilled. The passion, wisdom, and commitment that Mark brings to the commission is invaluable.

Dr. Eutsler has long been committed to serving the community and has provided leadership to a number of organizations. For 20 years he chaired the Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana Business Advisory Committee. The Commissison is lucky to have your continued support, now as a member!

Meeting Your Need Through Community Based Service Learning Projects
Projects are team-based, typically lasting 6-8 weeks of full-time service. Sample Projects include: Natural and Other Disaster, Energy Conservation, Environmental Stewardship and Conservation, Infrastructure Improvement, and Urban & Rural Development.
