ICRC and MLK Commission to Host 28th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration

INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Indiana Holiday Commission (MLKIHC), Indiana Black Expo, Inc., and AFSCME Local 725 will host the State of Indiana's 28th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Indiana Holiday Celebration on January 10, 2019, from 12 PM-1:30 PM at the Indiana Statehouse.

The Celebration will acknowledge the outstanding achievements of Hoosiers from around the state who make significant strides toward achieving Dr. King's "dream." Five total awards will be conferred by Governor Eric Holcomb. 

Before the Statehouse event, we will be hosting a commemorative Wreath Placing Ceremony at the Indiana War Memorial: Soldiers and Sailors Monument, alongside the Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. This will take place on Wednesday, January 9th, from 6-7 PM.

Then, on Monday, January 21, 2019, we will host the 8th Annual Dr. King Day of Service at Watkins Family Park Center from 9 AM-1 PM
