HUD Secretary Ben Carson to be Keynote Speaker at Indiana Fair Housing Conference

INDIANAPOLIS –Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will be the keynote luncheon speaker at the 2018 Region V Fair Housing Law and Policy Conference presented by the Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) on October 10, 2018. The conference theme is “50 Years Further,” in honor of the signing of the Federal Fair Housing Act. The conference will span three days--October 10-12-- at the Sheraton City Centre Hotel in downtown Indianapolis.

The 2018 Region V Fair Housing Law and Policy Conference will bring together community leaders, state and federal agencies, attorneys, lenders, builders, developers, policymakers, housing providers, and realtors to discuss the future of housing in the United States. Attendees can expect to learn more about fair housing investigation, policy and law update, and housing industry best practices.

"The Region V Conference provides valuable training opportunities for individuals working to protect against housing discrimination,” said ICRC Executive Director Greg Wilson. “I am pleased to have Secretary Carson speak at this conference."
Throughout the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to attend plenary sessions, breakout sessions and panel discussions on topics like accessibility, emerging issues in fair housing, service animals, design and construction, and fair housing best practices for state and local municipalities. Some sessions will be eligible for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit.
