Indians

Next Monday, July 29, interns are invited to come out to Victory Field after work for the Indianapolis Indians vs. Columbus Clippers game. We will meet in Robert D. Orr Plaza and walk over to the field, so there's no need to worry about moving your car - just stay parked in an IGC garage.

While at the game, attendees can take part in Victory Field's Monday Dollar Menu: "Bring your appetite as hot dogs, peanuts, potato chips, Cracker Jack and popcorn are all available for just $1 each" reads the stadium's website.

Tickets are $7 for the lawn. This price is WITH the State of Indiana Employee discount. We will be paying individually. Interns will have a specific section of the lawn where we plan to sit so feel free to bring blankets (no lawn chairs are allowed). The game begins at 7:15 p.m., and meet-up times are to-be-determined. This information will be available in a later newsletter.

What to bring:

  • Government badge
  • Money for tickets and food
  • Family and friends
  • Coolers with food and drink

Additionally, interns are invited to grab dinner at High Velocity before the game. Their menu is available here, and an option is available through the registration link to RSVP for dinner.

Interns Attend War Memorial Tour

War Memorial 2

Last week, interns had the opportunity to visit the Indiana War Memorial Museum. The 30,000 square foot museum displays artifacts from 20th century wars that Indiana and its soldiers were involved with.

Highlighting Indiana's decorated military men and officials, the museum shows the state's continued dedication to honoring those who have served.

War Memorial 1

The tour took the interns into the museum's notable Shrine Room, followed by the museum's numerous rooms of history and recognition.

"[I am] surrounded by a great group of individuals who show true support daily and embody what it means to be true leaders," said Tyler.

"After graduation I plan on going to graduate school to obtain my masters in human resource management. I am very thankful for the opportunity to intern with an organization like the State of Indiana where people come first."
