Study: Supervision of Peer Support Workers

Researchers in the University of South Florida’s Department of Psychiatry and at Magellan Health are conducting a survey that aims to investigate the backgrounds, training and experiences of individuals who supervise at least one peer support worker in a behavioral health setting or agency. If you have 10 minutes to spare, supervise a peer support worker and want to help researchers better understand the landscape of peer support worker supervision, you can access the survey here.


Indiana State Museum to Feature Exhibit on the Opioid Crisis Starting in February

In a powerful new exhibit — FIX: Heartbreak and Hope Inside Our Opioid Crisis — the Indiana State Museum is committed to finding ways for Indiana communities to come together to shift the conversation and reduce the stigma surrounding opioid use disorder. The exhibit will contain a mix of art, science, multi-media, hands-on installations and interactive artwork to demonstrate the nature of addiction and the drug crisis. CDC releases annual report of Drug Risks and Outcomes

This yearly report published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention highlights the effects of the prescription and illicit drug crisis affecting the nation. The data show information on the drug epidemic in America, including various health outcomes, health behaviors, prescribing patterns, overdoses and deaths.


Impacting the Opioid Crisis Online Course for Non-prescribing Health and Social Services Professionals

The University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center has announced a new open online course on impacting the opioid crisis. This extensive course will empower non-prescribing providers to directly affect the ongoing opioid crisis in the United States through increased knowledge and tools that will inform practice and policies. Up to 15 AMA PRA continuing education (CE) credits are available upon successful completion of course content.
