MULTI-AGENCY DRUG INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARRESTS

Lawrence County -  As a result of a multi-agency lengthy investigation, two Bedford residents were arrested on April 11, 2023, on drug-related charges in Lawrence County.

The Indiana State Police with assistance from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and Bedford Police Department conducted an investigation after receiving information that a male and female subject, both of Bedford, were suspected of dealing narcotic drugs. As result of several investigative techniques, a traffic stop was initiated Tuesday afternoon, April 11, 2023.

During the course of the traffic stop and investigation, Bedford Police Sergeant Faheem Bade deployed his K-9 partner Zazu. Zazu positively alerted to the possible presence of controlled substances within the vehicle. Officers found a bag containing approximately 50 blue pressed pills, purportedly containing fentanyl, and a handgun.

Tyler Gunderson, Age 20, and Jade Hillenburg, 22, both of Bedford, were arrested and incarcerated in the Lawrence County Jail for Dealing a Narcotic Drug, a Level 2 Felony, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 3 Felony, Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor.

Following the traffic stop, officers developed further information which led to the execution of a search warrant at a secondary location where it was believed that Gunderson and Hillenburg stored additional controlled substances. During the course of the secondary location’s search, officers seized approximately 330 blue pressed pills, purportedly containing fentanyl, approximately 11 grams of purported heroin, and boxes containing a THC product.

Indiana State Police DES Detectives were assisted by Trooper Chance Humphrey, Sheriff Greg Day and Deputy Brenten Trueblood of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, along with Major Jesse Crane, Captain Kody Emmons, Sergeant Faheem Bade and Officer Tyler McGlocklin of the Bedford Police Department.
