ISP Investigating Armed Robbery in Auburn
***UPDATE***
(Auburn, IN)-The Indiana State Police is investigating an armed
robbery which took place at the Speedway gas station early this morning and the
public’s help is being sought in identifying the person involved.
According to Detective Mike Carroll, at approximately 3:36
a.m. a man purportedly entered the Speedway gas station located at 1117 W. 7th
Street who displayed a handgun and demanded cash. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash,
the man left the Speedway and was last seen heading south. No one was injured and only the clerk was
present at the time of the robbery. A
photo of the suspect is provided.
Since this release was sent out on October 9th, investigators have learned that similar armed robberies took place on Saturday, September 30th in both Logansport, Indiana and Peru, Indiana. Most recently, armed robberies took place on Tuesday, October 10th in both Portage, Michigan and Kalamazoo, Michigan. Investigators believe the same man is involved in all four of those armed robberies and are providing the public and media with the attached photos of the suspect. Please note the photo showing the silver vehicle by itself is the type and color of vehicle believed to have been used by the suspect.
The investigation is ongoing and Carroll is asking anyone who recognizes this man or
who may have any information to contact either the Indiana State Police in Fort Wayne
at (260) 432-8661 or the Auburn Police Department at (260) 920-3200. Anonymous calls will be accepted.
All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a
Court of Law.
