CCDF and OMWPK Eligibility is Expanding
 |
Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) and On My Way Pre-K (OMWPK) income eligibility is expanding for employees of regulated child care programs on September 30. This update allows more workers to apply and qualify for child care assistance. This change is a result of Indiana Senate Enrolled Act 2, which passed earlier this year.
The income threshold for child care workers to be eligible for assistance will increase to 85% of State median income (SMI) from 150% of the federal poverty level (FPL). View the SMI chart. If you do receive assistance, you will also likely be required to provide a copay.
If you believe you are newly eligible for assistance and would like to apply, talk with your program administrator/supervisor at the site where you work. Your employer can then make a referral for you through I-LEAD. Applications will be processed and vouchers issued on a first come, first served basis by region.
You can begin preparing for this change now. Potentially eligible employees must have a completed background check and fingerprints on file to be referred to the Eligibility Office. Work with your program administrator/supervisor to complete these if needed.
Thank you, The Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning (OECOSL)
