weather.gov, has weather forecast and warning information for the entire United States. Indiana is covered by 6 NWS offices and based on radar coverage from each office. NWS Chicago (LOT) covers northwest Indiana; NWS Northern Indiana (IWX) covers north central and northeast Indiana; NWS Indianapolis (IND) covers central Indiana; NWS Wilmington OH (ILN) covers southeast Indiana; NWS Louisville (LMK) covers far south central Indiana; and NWS Paducah (PAH) covers far southwest Indiana. Information from each NWS office can be found by going to
weather.gov/xxx and entering the 3 letter office identifier, so
weather.gov/ind for Indianapolis. The NWS offices provide data in text and digital formats that are ideal for GIS applications, including data for severe warnings, weather and hydrology, and climate information. All of this information is archived and available for download from the NWS through the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) at
ncei.noaa.gov.
