IHCDA COVID-19 update: A message from Jake

On Monday, July 13th at 9:00 am we will begin accepting applications through the Rental Assistance Portal at: http://www.indianahousingnow.org.

This portal will connect Hoosiers to a variety of rental assistance programs administered by IHCDA.

The COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program was designed to help Indiana renters who live outside of Marion County and are earning less now because their income was reduced due to a COVID-19 related event such as job loss or reduction in job hours.

Low-income renters outside of Marion County may be eligible for rental assistance through the Emergency Solutions Grant if they have been affected by COVID-19 either medically or financially. Individuals or families in need may use the portal to apply for either program.

We recognize the most effective way to inform renters who have been impacted by COVID-19 that rental assistance is available is through our local network of community organizations like not-for-profits, community foundations, Township Trustees, faith based organizations, local elected officials, and employers.

To assist you with disseminating this important information, we developed a communications toolkit for you to easily share information about these programs with the individuals you serve.

Please note, Hoosiers that are homeless, in a housing crisis, or in need of immediate assistance should call 2-1-1 and ask to connect with a navigator. They may also find additional local assistance through Coordinated Entry leads: https://www.in.gov/ihcda/4147.htm.

Homeowners in need of assistance paying their mortgage should visit: www.877gethope.org.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are #INthistogether.
