IHCDA COVID-19 update: A message from Jake

I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding over the last month as you’ve no doubt experienced unprecedented changes both personally and professionally due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Our focus today, as always, is to continue working closely with you to serve Hoosiers most in need.

I wanted to take a few moments to update you since my last message:

• Change to 2021 9% Application Due Date & Suspension of 4%/Bond Applications – COVID-19 represents an unforeseen change in market conditions and is impacting the ability of developers to prepare tax credit applications. As a result, we have made adjustments to the upcoming tax credit round that can be found in RED Notice 20-23.
• Mortgage payment assistance – We have re-instituted the mortgage payment assistance program through Indiana’s Hardest Hit Fund (HHF). The program allows us to can provide up to $30,000 to eligible Indiana homeowners struggling to pay their mortgage.
• Coronavirus Eviction and Foreclosure Resource Guide – In partnership with the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions (IDFI), the Indiana Apartment Association (IAA), Indiana Bankers Association (IBA), Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association (IMBA) and the Indiana Credit Union League (ICUL) we developed a new resource guide aimed at helping Hoosiers continue paying their rent and mortgage payments during the ongoing public health emergency.
