CHDO Working Group

IHCDA has kicked off the Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Working Group! Eight IHCDA CHDOs will be participating in the Working Group. Through the group, IHCDA will be able to obtain feedback regarding the design of the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), to provide technical assistance on the requirements of the CHDO set-aside funding, to ensure CHDOs are meeting the needs of the communities they serve and to provide capacity building to these nonprofit organizations.

2019 Annual Action Plan Survey

IHCDA and the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) encourage Partners and Stakeholders to respond to the 2019 Annual Action Plan Stakeholder Survey. The Survey is used to collect updated information on housing and community development needs in the state, with a focus on small towns and rural areas. After this program year, the state will begin a new five-year planning effort to develop new strategic goals to guide funding.

The survey may be accessed here.

MCMV Event

On February 16 this year’s five My Community, My Vision (MCMV) groups participated in AIM’s annual Youth Leadership Summit at Indiana University-Bloomington. Students from Batesville, Huntingburg, Warsaw, Union County, and North Putnam and their graduate student mentors presented their community planning and project creation work thus far and answered questions from other students attending the summit. They also joined the other groups in breakout sessions where they discussed innovative ideas for their youth groups, met with elected state leaders, and learned about ongoing community development projects occurring throughout the state.

If you would like to learn more about MCMV or are interested in joining next year’s 2019-2020 MCMV program, an information webinar will be hosted on March 20th.
